Boot and Leather

This is our classic Delaware pattern built upon the new 602 last. The Delaware has a cap toe made with two layers of upper leather along with a brogue design seen in the cap. The upper leather used in this style is the Waxy Commander article from the Charles F. Stead tannery. This style is now fully leather-lined with vegetable tanned leather. This article has many rugged features to it, including many depths of color along with plenty of texture. Waxy Commander leather is finished on the flesh-side and includes a blend of natural waxes for a uniquely rugged aesthetic. The dyes/colors of the article are blended to compliment the base dying for a rugged appearance with depth of color and texture. Waxy Commander leather is part of C.F. Stead's waterproof line of leathers.

Insole Build

This boot, along with others beginning their release in the Summer of 2026, will feature our new insole build combination. This includes our standard vegetable tanned bends leather insole, but with more arch support. Additionally, there will be a thicker layer of cork underneath as you might be able to see in the cutaway on the website as well. The new insole build is meant to provide a mildly firm, supportive feel in the entirety of the arch of your foot. You may very well notice immediately the firmness of the support this insole provides upon trying the boots on. By nature of the build, there are more layers to the underfoot.

Soles + Heels

This model, along with others, will have the newly designed outsole and heel made of nitrile rubber. Design inspiration for this pattern/tread came from old military boots in our former U.S. factory using similar patterns, but mainly paying homage to the 1900's military boot soles made by various former manufacturers.
Our build focuses on enhanced breath-ability and shock absorption in a more natural way by using leather components. Some components are necessary to use such as leather-board to keep the shank in place and prevent or reduce the chances of slip and squeaking. Additional build information along with cutaways can be found under our Craft + Build section.

Sizing guidance is general in nature as every foot is different, but we have a few ways to help identify the best size for you. Our customers size down into our boots. From typical sneaker sizing, it is usually a half to 1 full size down. For example, if you take a sneaker size 10 across all sneakers you own, you're most likely going to be a 9 or 9.5 in our boots. Medium width and volume will be size 9, wider width and higher volume will be a 9.5 in this example. Sizing discussions are best had prior to order placement.

602 Last (2026)

This is the new and updated 602 last. The 602 became one of our staple lasts in the past however there were some adjustments we felt needed to be made. Customers can expect the same volume, heel, arch and instep as the original 602 last. We have re-contoured the ball and small toe area on this updated version of the 602 last.

Brannock - Half size down if D width and regular volume. Take your Brannock size if your foot is slightly wider or if you have slightly higher volume. A full size down is recommended for those who are measuring narrow, so in the B or C range. A full size down is also recommended if you are both narrow and low volume.

Parkhurst 618 - This last was geared towards lower volume to provide a more tailored fit all around. The 602 has more volume than the 618 last overall. If this last fits a bit snug currently, we suggest getting the same size since you're going to pick up volume in the 602. If it is too tight, then we suggest a half size up into the 602. If the 618 fits you too large in a given size, then we suggest dropping a half size down from that size into this last.

Alden Barrie and Trubalance - True to size.

Red Wing No. 8 - True to size.

Thursday Boot - True to size.

Allen Edmond's - True to size.

Adidas - Full size down if D width, half size down if slightly wider or higher volume.

Nike - Full size down if D width, half size down if slightly wider or higher volume.

New Balance - Full size down if D width, half size down if slightly wider or higher volume.

618 Last

The 618 draws elements from both the 602 and original 18 lasts while incorporating some new design aspects. It features a bit more tapered heel than the 602, a slight point to the toe and a lower volume than the 602 last. Additionally, the peak width on this last at Brannock is just over a single E. If you are on the wider side of a D width or a single E, it may be beneficial to go with your Brannock size in this last.

Brannock - Half size down if you're a true D width and D volume. If you're a 10D Brannock, go with size 9.5 in the 618 last. If you're slightly higher volume, or want to have a little more room in general, then a size 10 in this instance may apply. If you measure a single E width, more towards a single E width or prefer a slight bit of extra room without a drastic length increase, we also suggest going with your Brannock size in this case. If you are a narrow width, we suggest going a full size down from your Brannock measurement. So if you are a size 10C or 10B on the Brannock, then a size 9 in our boots would be our suggestion.

Parkhurst 602M - This will depend on how far down you sized into the 602M last. A half size up from your size in the 602M last is generally recommended for the 618. The same size would be suggested if you are medium/average volume, width and instep height. If you have a higher volume foot, or a higher instep, or want to have just a touch of extra room for thicker socks, size up a half size into the 618. If you sized down drastically, or a full size or more into the 602M, you might need the next half size up from your current 602M size into the 618 depending on foot volume and instep girth.

Alden Barrie and Trubalance - True to size if D width.

Red Wing No. 8 - True to size if D width.

Thursday Boot - True to size if D width. Lower volume/narrower widths may need to go down a half size.

Allen Edmond's - True to size if D width. Lower volume/narrower widths may need to go down a half size.

Nike - Full size down if standard/medium width, half size down if width is slightly wider.

Adidas - Full size down if standard/medium width, half size down if width is slightly wider.

New Balance - Full size down if standard/medium width, half size down if width is slightly wider.
