Boot and Leather

This is our development of a stitchdown build crafted alongside the classic Allen pattern. The upper leather comes from the Tempesti tannery and the color card is Chestnut with a full vegetable tannage (Vachetta). Many fats are left in this leather during the tanning process and the finishing treatment is quite minimal. The end result is a beautiful vegetable tannage with a bit or a raw feeling to the article.
Our build focuses on enhanced breath-ability and shock absorption in a more natural way by using leather components. Additional build information along with cutaways can be found under our Craft + Build section.

Sizing guidance is general in nature as every foot is different, but we have a few ways to help identify the best size for you. Our customers size down into our boots. From typical sneaker sizing, it is usually a half to 1 full size down. For example, if you take a sneaker size 10 across all sneakers you own, you're most likely going to be a 9 or 9.5 in our boots. Medium width and volume will be size 9, wider width and higher volume will be a 9.5 in this example. Sizing discussions are best had prior to order placement.

602M Last

The 602M last is primarily used for Allen and Richmond production however there will be some moc-toe styles built on it as well. Its features include a roomy fit along with a natural contour to your instep. Along with this comes a slight bit of extra room in that smaller toe region than a traditional D width last.

Parkhurst Old 602 (2020-2023) - True to size. If narrower feet, lower instep, skinny ankles or lower volume feet in general, a half size down may apply.

Brannock - Half size down if D/regular width and volume, full size if narrower, lower volume foot. For example, if you are a size 10C on the Brannock, then a size 9 in our boots would fit best.

Wide Width's - Take your normal wide width numerical size for E and EE. EEE will not fit.

Alden Barrie or Trubalance - True to size.

Allen Edmond's - True to size if D width. Lower volume/narrower widths may need to go down a half size.

Red Wing - True to size.

Thursday Boot - True to size if D width. Lower volume/narrower widths may need to go down a half size.

Nike - Full size down

New Balance - Full size down.

Adidas - Full size down.

618 Last

This is our newer last designed first for our Stitch-down-constructed boots. The 618 draws elements from both the 602 and original 18 lasts while incorporating some new design aspects. It features a bit more tapered heel than the 602, a slight point to the toe and a lower volume than the 602 last. Additionally, the peak width on this last at Brannock is just over a single E. If you are on the wider side of a D width or a single E, it may be beneficial to go with your Brannock size in this last.

Brannock - Half size down if you're a true D width and D volume. If you're a 10D Brannock, go with size 9.5 in the 618 last. If you're slightly higher volume, or want to have a little more room in general, then a size 10 in this instance may apply. If you measure a single E width, more towards a single E width or prefer a slight bit of extra room without a drastic length increase, we also suggest going with your Brannock size in this case. If you are a narrow width, we suggest going a full size down from your Brannock measurement. So if you are a size 10C or 10B on the Brannock, then a size 9 in our boots would be our suggestion.

Parkhurst 602M - This will depend on how far down you sized into the 602M last. A half size up from your size in the 602M last is generally recommended for the 618. The same size would be suggested if you are medium/average volume, width and instep height. If you have a higher volume foot, or a higher instep, or want to have just a touch of extra room for thicker socks, size up a half size into the 618. If you sized down drastically, or a full size or more into the 602M, you might need the next half size up from your current 602M size into the 618 depending on foot volume and instep girth.

Alden Barrie and Trubalance - True to size if D width.

Red Wing No. 8 - True to size if D width.

Thursday Boot - True to size if D width. Lower volume/narrower widths may need to go down a half size.

Allen Edmond's - True to size if D width. Lower volume/narrower widths may need to go down a half size.

Nike - Full size down if standard/medium width, half size down if width is slightly wider.

Adidas - Full size down if standard/medium width, half size down if width is slightly wider.

New Balance - Full size down if standard/medium width, half size down if width is slightly wider.

645 Last

The newest edition to our last lineup is called the 645 last. This last is modeled after, and inspired by, the classic Munson last design. This last features a rounder, more voluminous toebox, wider ball and narrow arch and heel. There will be a slight spring in the toebox as well. This is all as compared to a true D width boot or shoe. The contours and shape of this last will be different than those of the 618 and 602M. This will be a different feel and different distribution of natural support. Sizing for the 645 was modeled heavily off of the Brannock device. Therefore, if you deviated from standard Brannock sizing for the 602M and 618, it is possible you may be a different size in the 645 than you have been in the 602M and the 618.

Brannock - This last runs closer to Brannock sizing than the 618 and 602M. Therefore, many may find that going with your Brannock size in this last to be a roomy yet supportive fit. However, a half size down is recommended if you are a true D width and true D/medium volume. Full size down if narrow. Take your Brannock size if you have a higher volume foot, are slightly wider or plan to use an insert.

Parkhurst 602M - Generally a half size up from the 602M last may apply for the 645 last since the 645 runs closer to Brannock sizing than the 602M last does.

Parkhurst 618 - Same size if you sized down a half size from Brannock into the 618 and are a true D width and D volume. If you had to size into this last based off of foot volume, please send an email for sizing guidance.
