The Allen - Natural Chromepak

Boot and Leather

An ideal boot for the Spring/Summer transition. Unlined, breathable and water-resistant, Chromepak is a seldomly-seen chrome tanned leather from Horween. This 4.5/5 ounce leather is tanned using mainly wax and greases for an added level of water resistance. Both of these tanning components give this leather different undertones so no two pairs of boots will look the same. Chromepak will age similarly to natural Chromexcel by typically getting darker. Natural-colored leather will usually have variations and these are a large part of what makes this leather so distinctive. Over time with wear and conditioning, these variations will all blend together.

Our General rule of thumb is to go down a half size from your typical sneaker or casual shoe size. If you are a 10D on the Brannock device, we suggest ordering a 9.5 in our boots. If you are a 10E on the Brannock device or are looking for just a bit of extra room without sacrificing overall fit, we suggest ordering a size 10. It is best to try on and wear our boots for the first few wears with dress or thin socks in order to get the best fit, feel and break-in for the boot.

Our last tends to run close to a single E width, which can translate to running one-half to in some cases depending on preference, 1 full size larger than your average sneaker size. This also equates to about one-half size larger than your typical Brannock measurement for D widths.

Sizing can be particular for each individual and we are more than happy to help you determine the correct size in our boots. If you have any questions regarding sizing please contact us prior to purchasing at We can also assist in identifying the right size for you based off of what you wear in other brands of footwear.

We believe in making our product in the U.S. to help revive the American manufacturing industry. The materials used to make this boot came from the below states:
